Best Ever Montly Sales Of Cars In January
All of the big OEMs had a strong start to 2024 thanks to a solid increase in sales.As demand increases, it is expected that the trend will continue in the upcoming months. This is a brief summary of the top automakers in India based on sales in January 2024.
1) Maruti Suzuki:
The biggest automaker in India has recorded its highest-ever sales figure. 1,70,214 of the 199,364 units that the brand sold domestically were part of its overall sales. The SUV market has seen a little increase in sales; the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, S-cross, and XL6 together account for 62,038 units sold. Nonetheless, the total sales of the following models are around 92,382: Alto, S-Presso, Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR. Compared to entry-level automobiles, which dominated the market a few years ago, luxury SUVs are the main driver of the rise.
2) Hyundai Motors:
The South Korean automaker claimed a good year-over-year gain of almost 14%, selling 57,115 units as opposed to 50,106 units in January 2023. Given that Hyundai anticipates strong volume sales in this market, the Creta is expected to boost brand sales.
3)Tata Motors:
With its cutting-edge vehicles, the domestic Indian brand has had a significant upturn in recent years. They recorded 54,033 passenger car sales in total for January, a 12 percent increase. Tata Motors’ best-selling SUV, the Nexon, also received a significant makeover, and its electric vehicle variant saw significant adjustments as well. When the latest generation of EVs arrive on our shores in 2024 or later in 2025, Tata is predicted to expand tenfold. Additionally, Tata Motors has unveiled the redesigned Harrier and Safari.
4) Mahindra and Mahindra:
M&M has had remarkable expansion, seeing a 31% YoY increase in total sales to 43,068 units in January 2024 from 32,915 units in January 2023. Mahindra has demonstrated their ability to reach a variety of market niches with the Thar EV and pickup idea, which are both based on the Scorpio-N. This year, Mahindra is also going to introduce a 5-door Thar.
5) Honda India:
In January 2024, Honda Cars India reported 8,681 domestic sales per month. Honda’s Creta challenger SUV, the Elevate, helped the company make a big return to the Indian market and provide much-needed sales impetus.
6) Toyota Kirloskar Motor:
With 92 percent YoY increase and 23,197 units sold in January 2024, Toyota has recently stepped up its game in the Indian market. Toyota also unveiled the Rumion, an MPV based on the Maruti Ertiga, priced at Rs 10.29 lakh. Additionally, badge-engineered items assist Toyota in increasing sales figures.
